Charlie Murphy Throwback Contest on June 29 at Summerfest

WHAT: Johnsonville is hosting a Charlie Murphy Throwback Contest during Summerfest’s “Throwback Thursday” theme on Thursday, June 29. The first 25 Summerfest guests who come on stage with us to give us their best rendition will receive a free Johnsonville saUSAge t-shirt.

WHEN: Thursday, June 29 at 2:30 pm and again at 5:15 pm

WHERE: Summerfest grounds (Milwaukee), in the Johnsonville Summerville stage at the far north end of park

WHO: Summerfest guests are invited to come on stage and perform their very best line from the 1981 Johnsonville commercial where the fictional character states, “Charlie Murphy’s cooking Johnsonville Brats….Johnsonville brats, Johnsonville brats….”

HOW IT WORKS: Summerfest guests are invited up by the Johnsonville team, to give their one best shot at that famous line. A panel of three Johnsonville advertising and marketing professionals (including one named Charlie Murphy!)  – along with the Summerville stage crowd – will rate each participant’s version.

The first 25 auditions get a free Johnsonville t-shirt and the guest who scores the highest points will receive free Johnsonville sausage for a year.
