Product Recall: Polish Turkey Kielbasa

The Johnsonville POLISH TURKEY KIELBASA Smoked Sausage (12 oz.) is part of a voluntary recall after two consumer complaints of black rubber material was found in the sausage.

Although there have been no reported injuries involved with this product and there is a small chance of any adverse health hazard, protecting the consumer is our priority and why we’re issuing the recall.

This recall is limited in scope, with a total of 4,721 cases (or 35,430 pounds) shipped to retailer distribution centers between January and February 2024 in 11 states:  MI, WI, OH, WA, CA, OR, ID, NC, IA, KS, and MN.  Johnsonville communicated with its retail partners to remove the affected product (containing the information below) from their stores immediately, should any affected product yet be in stores.

To determine if the product is among the recall, consumers are asked to see if the Polish Turkey Kielbasa smoked sausage they possess contains the following on the front of the package:

·       “Best By” date of either 05/17/24 OR 05/18/24. The product is under recall only if either of those two dates are stamped on the bottom front of the package. If there’s a different date than either of the above-mentioned dates, the product is NOT under recall and safe to eat.
