Spicy Sausage Queso
Tired of your typical chips and dip? Try this hearty dip chock full of Johnsonville Italian Sausage and cheese. Plain old chip dip won't stand a chance against this MVP of the snack table!

(16 ounces) chunky salsa

fennel seed, crushed

garlic powder

anise seed, crushed

In a skillet, cook and crumble sausage over medium heat until sausage is browned and the internal temperature is 160°F; about 10 minutes. Drain if desired.

Place cheese in a large microwave-safe bowl; cook in microwave on high for 6 minutes or until melted, stirring every 2 minutes.

Stir in the salsa, seasonings and sausage.

Microwave 2 minutes longer or until heated through.

Serve with garlic toast.
Preparation Tips:

Add 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper for a spicier dish.

Add diced tomatoes and chopped black olives to garnish queso.

To serve in a bread bowl, cut off round loaf top; carefully hollow out bottom, leaving a 1-inch shell. Cube removed bread. Spoon queso into bread shell. Serve with bread cubes.
