Italian Sausage Melt
This delicious Panini recipe combines the classic Italian Caprese ingredients...fresh mozzarella cheese, tomatoes, fresh basil and balsamic vinegar. Easy to assemble and even easier to enjoy!

fresh mozzarella cheese

balsamic reduction or balsamic vinaigrette

round loaf focaccia bread (14 ounces)

butter, softened

garlic salt and pepper, to taste

Directions

Cook sausage according to package directions. Cool slightly; slice in half lengthwise.

Brush each side of cheese and tomato with balsamic reduction. Sprinkle tomatoes with garlic salt and pepper.

Slice focaccia in half horizontally; then cut into quarters to make 4 sandwiches.

Arrange tomatoes, cheese, basil and sausage on the fococcia bread bottoms; add foccocia bread tops.

Spread butter over outside of sandwiches.

Grill on a panini press or in a skillet until cheese is melted.
