Grilled Cabbage Steaks and Smoked Sausage
What could be better? Try this grilled cabbage steak topped with tasty Johnsonville® Smoked Rope Sausage, Johnsonville Maple Flavored Sausage Strips™, crumbled gorgonzola cheese, grilled red pepper and green onion drizzled with a sweet vinaigrette that makes a perfect side or even main meal!

head green cabbage, sliced into 1/2-inch slices

sweet red pepper, seeded and quartered

sliced green onions

1/4-1/2
cup crumbled Gorgonzola cheese

tablespoons olive oil

Vinaigrette dressing:

tablespoons olive oil

teaspoon Dijon mustard

tablespoon balsamic vinegar

tablespoon maple syrup

Salt and pepper, to taste

Preheat grill to medium heat.

Grill sausage and sausage strips for 5-10 minutes or until heated through. Remove from grill; chop.

Brush cabbage steaks on both sides with oil and season with salt and pepper. Brush red peppers and green onions with olive oil. Place on grill and cook until tender, about 5 minutes per side for cabbage; 3-4 minutes for onions and peppers. Remove onions and peppers from grill. Chop pepper and slice onions.

In a bowl, whisk the olive oil, mustard, vinegar, maple syrup, salt and pepper.

Top cabbage steaks with the sausage strips, sausage, peppers, onions and cheese, drizzle with vinaigrette before serving.
