SAUSAGE STRIP BOURBON JAM - Yield: 1 cup

package (12 ounces) JOHNSONVILLE Original Sausage Strips™, chopped

cups chopped sweet onion

cup dark brown sugar

cup bourbon
-

tablespoons balsamic vinegar
BEER-BRAISED ONIONS - Yield 1 cup

tablespoons canola oil

cups thinly sliced onions

bottle (12 ounces) dark or amber beer

Directions

Prepare brat according to package directions.

Spoon beer-braised onions onto bun button; top with the cheese, bourbon jam, brat and bun top.
SAUSAGE STRIP BOURBON JAM

Cook sausage strips according to package directions. Remove sausage strip pieces; keep drippings in pan.

Cook and stir onions in drippings until golden brown; about 5 minutes.

Add brown sugar and bourbon; cook and stir until sugar is dissolved. Remove from heat.

Transfer to a food processor. Add vinegar; process until finely chopped.
BEER-BRAISED ONIONS

In a large skillet, cook and stir onions over medium heat, stirring frequently until golden brown; about 10 minutes.

Add a third of the beer, cook and stir over medium heat to reduce liquid; about 5 minutes.

Add another third of the beer, cook and stir over medium heat to reduce liquid; about 5 minutes.

Add remaining beer, cook and stir over medium heat to reduce liquid; about 5 minutes.
