Great Recipe
by Joanna D. 2 years agoIt was easy and very delicious. Will make it again.
Will definitely make again!
by Joanna D. 2 years agoThis was easy and delicious. I will be making it again. My husband loved it! :)
Fast and delicious
by Lorraine 4 years agoThis recipe is simple and the flavor is great. I add a little extra chopped green chile (from a can) but the recipe is fine without it. I definitely recommend trying it!
Extremely Yummy & Easy!
by Shannon Tallent 4 years agoVery easy recipe to follow, low cost ingredients for amount of servings recipe yields. You will spend about 10-15 minutes prep time and 10-15 minutes cooking so within 30 minutes you can have a restaurant quality meal for the whole family. The Andouille Sausage by Johnsonville is amazing, it has great flavor. I DO NOT RECOMMEND substituting another brand, it's worth the extra cost for this brand. This recipe is easy to tailor to your families likes. I did have to research how a garlic clove breaks down to teaspoons because I didn't use cloves. I used already minced garlic but finding out was easy with the internet. Just FYI, 1 clove of garlic equals 1/2 teaspoon of minced garlic so you will need 1 teaspoon of minced garlic. Trying this recipe is worth your time! My family loved it so much, I am writing this review!
Family loved it!
by Leanne 4 years agoVery nice recipe. I did tailor it to our taste a bit....added some chopped celery to the other vegetables, used turkey smoked sausage (I don't like heat), added more shrimp, increased rice to 1 cup, added chicken broth to the water to make 2 1/4 cups. Finished it with chopped scallions on top. Delicious!
Yummy
by Pat 4 years agoMade this while camping at the beach in the fall. Was very good and easy one pot dish.
Very, very good!!
by Chris G 5 years agoWe made this exactly as the recipe calls for and it was wonderful. The only thing different was we did it on our Weber grill. Cooking time was about 45 minutes as we made sure the rice was done. Next time, we will add different meats such as chicken, ham or pork sausage. Also, it was good with a peasant roll. We both love spicy dishes so I would kick this up a little bit more with tabasco sauce or crushed red pepper. Overall, I would strongly recommend this dish.
Spicy good!
by Rick E 5 years agoI made this up for dinner tonight. Prep is easy. I came up with a can of diced tomatoes with jalapeƱo peppers in it. The results are hot, hot, hot, but good. One adjustment on the cooking time:
after 20-25 minutes, the jambalaya was still rather soupy. I backed the heat off to just keeping the skillet warm and let the rice finish soaking up most of the excess liquid. I recommend extending the simmering time to 30-35 minutes.
Kids had seconds
by John 5 years agoEasy to prepare, quick to make, and everyone had seconds. It's that good.

Jambalaya Easy Yummmm....
by Paula Brick 6 years agoI'm not into real spicey foods but thought that I would give it try anyway. All that I can say is that this is so good. Not to spicey with just enough kick to it. I added shrimp to mine. This is so easy to make. I had a loaf of Italian bread to go along with it. My husband really liked it. I will make this again and maybe add some chicken to it. This is a keeper.
Jambalaya Durango
by Tom 6 years agoAdd 4-6 cubed (1/2") boneless, skinless chicken thighs with sausage, etc. Better taste and texture than with shrimp. Also try adding 3 whole roasted green chiles, chopped to your taste, and 1/2 pkg frozen okra.
Big Easy EASY!
by Shelley 6 years agoIn desperation, I threw this together one night when I hadn't thought I'd HAVE to prepare dinner. It was on the sausage wrapper and I had everything in house! After the chopping, it was a snap. At the last minute, I threw in a handful of shrimp I had in the back of the freezer. Added a loaf of crusty bread and dinner was served. The boys really liked it. Their one comment was that the stewed tomato pieces were too big. I'll crush them up the next time. If you don't want it spicy, go for plain diced tomatoes. And there will be a next time.
Andouille Sausage Jambalaya
by Natalie Cote 6 years agoYou omitted shrimp as one of the ingredients.

Wonderful, comforting "winter" food!
by Amy1222 6 years agoI LOVE this simple recipe for Jambalaya, and it's often an "at least once a week" dinner here in our home! I add a little extra celery, and of course some good old Louisiana Hot Sauce to our individual bowls, but it's a hit nonetheless!! Add in some cold potato salad and you can't miss!!
This was great.
by lilcombatboots 6 years agoThis was great. I added some additional spice to kick it up a bit, but other than that as is, it worked great!
Yummo
by Mitchell 6 years agoThis recipe is wonderful if you're on a diet or want something healthy. And while it's not the kind of jambalaya you'd get at Harold and Belle's or in new Orleans, for health food, it's hard to beat.
A zesty treat.
by Jay Vervoort 6 years agoThis adds an authentic taste to Jambalaya. The basic recipe allows me to add or subtract ingredients as I choose experimenting different taste combinations.

by robynst 6 years agoI marked family favorite low because my daughter did not like it. Though I LOVED this dish. Jambalaya is always a great meal. Make sure if you are going to have spicier food as your meal, you should start feeding your child early on. Mine won't try much now that she is a teen.

All time favorite dish
by Sandy 6 years agoI've made this dish quite a few times, but not with the shrimp. I'm definitely going to add shrimp. It's very quick and easy and the flavor is awesome.
very good
by maryj 6 years agoJohnsonville sausage is the only kind I use in my jambalaya. Though I add more ingredients than this recipe to my jambalaya this is very good. I've been told mine is the best by many especially one friend who wants me to make it ALL the time for him.
Really quick!
by theladybug 6 years agoI love one pot meals. Especially after a really long day - who wants to do a ton of dishes after dinner? I changed it up and put in the sweet sausage since spicy things don't mesh well with my heartburn. Overall, the recipe was really good and had a lot of flavor. Plus the leftovers froze well and tasted great reheated.
I am particular
by ParticularEater 6 years agoI must not be an andouille sausage fan. I have tried in another brand and didn't care for it, so I decided to try Johnsonville. It isn't that the recipe is bad but I am not the biggest fan of this particular sausage.

Better than expected
by Stephanie 6 years agoMade without seafood, so the flavor of the sausage really came through. And the Andouille sausage really shined compared to other sausages I've used in the past for Jambalya! NO LEFTOVERS!!!
Most popular tailgate food we make!
by pj1048 6 years agoEvery time we take the Jambalaya to a tailgate it is gone in no time. We use the chicken sausage to appeal to a large crowd and add a bit less kick. Easy to make the day before and just reheat when it's party time!

Great for Football Party
by sgsooners 6 years agoI have been collecting recipes to serve for our big Super Bowl Party and wanted something that was New Orleans oriented. We tried this out last Sunday and it was great! I was able to pick up some fresh shrimp from the shrimp truck and the spice from the sausuage was perfect. I actually tossed the sausages on the grill for a little while to get a crisp exterior. Can hardly wait to share this with my friends in February!
Andouille sausage jambalaya
by brooke0420 6 years agoWe absolutely love Jambalaya in my family. We used Johnsonville sausages for this recipe, and it was fantastic. The spices inside the sausage were perfect, and it went along great with the shrimp. Thank you for sharing such a wonderful recipe!
It was a good recipe
by rogerbr 6 years agoANDOUILLE SAUSAGE JAMBALAYA was not bad. The only thing I did I different was to include the entire Cajan veggie trinity. (celery, bell pepper and onion)
quick and easy
by Woodburn 6 years agoMy regular jambalaya recipe is very involved, this was quick and easy. I browned a little celery with the veggies as this is a creole food requirement. My 12 year old picked around on it (only eating the sausage), but the 10 year old ate it up as did my older kids, the wife, and myself. I also loved the Andouille in red beans and rice. I bought it months ago when I first saw it on the market here in Minnesota. I am from southern Illinois, which isn't exactly New Orleans, but I have had Andouille many times in my life and have always loved it. This is a good product, a little expensive though.
Delicious!

Easy and Delicious. Reminded me of a recent trip to the Big Easy!
by Bigeasy 6 years agoHad never tasted Johnsonville Andouille Sausage before this. I was impressed. Very good quality. Great seasoning. This recipe was easy, quick and delicious. I added a little chicken breast and shrimp to 'jazz' it up a bit. (pardon the pun) And a little Cajun seaoning. Served over rice as suggested. Everyone loved it. I think it even tasted better the next day.
Jambalaya at it's best
by 6 years agoAfter using the Johnsonville Andouille Sausage in my Wife's Jambalaya recipe, it made a better fit rather than the regular smoked link sausage that we were used to. Its flavor really meshed with the other spices and vegetables that were prepared in her dish. This is what we'll be using for now on.

by Lorraine 6 years agoI tried this recipe last nite for my family and it was a big hit. Very easy to put together, loved the fact I had everything on hand. My family can't wait for me to make it again.
food with real GUSTO and FLAVOR
by KOOKHEAD2 6 years agoI have always loved big flavors and jambalaya really fits the bill. The sausage is such an important part of this dish being a compliment to the "trinity" (onion, pepper and celery) and shrimp all in a zesty sauce with tomatoes. Who could ask for more. My family asks for it very often, my poker playing friends can't get enough. It's loaded with stick-to-your-ribs goodness. With a little imagination there are many ways to jazz it up even more. I sometimes add hot peppers, or okra, or artichoke hearts, more shellfish, or more sausage because you can't have too much sausage!!
Quick and tasty
by Michelle 6 years agoThis is a very simple recipe with amazing flavor. The Andouille sausage is absolutely perfect in this dish.

JOHNSONVILLE MAKES THIS DISH COMPLETE
by JOHN1432 6 years agoWE HAVE BEEN MAKING JAMBALAYA IN OUR FAMILY FOR YEARS. WE HAVE ALWAYS USED THE "BUTCHER SHOP" ANDOUILLE SAUSAGE IN OUR RECIPE. SINCE TRYING THE JOHNSONVILLE ANDOUILLE SAUSAGE IN OUR DISH, WE WILL NEVER GO BACK TO THE OLD BRAND. IT NOT ONLY IMPROVED THE TASTE OF THE DISH, BUT ALSO INTRODUCED MORE OF THE SAUSAGE FLAVORS INTO THE SHRIMP AND THE TOMATOES. IT MADE A GOOD, PLAIN OLD DISH INTO A GREAT FAVORITE IN OUR FAMILY !
This is a keeper!
by nanisib 6 years agoWe make this and love the delicious taste. It's one of my family's favorite "go-to" meal. We all like spicy food, and LOVE seafood so this is always a winner.

Andouille Sausage Hard to find in NC
by Millie Cross 6 years agoAndouille Sauage is hard to find in NC but shrimp is abundant so when I saw this sausage I had to get and try. As Jambalaya is a favorite I tried this one. It was great, easy, delicious and I thought my guests would lick the bowls. I also use it in a "steam pot" for the sausage. I liked the convenience of the separate packaging also, it allow to make a smaller batch. Thanks

Lots of flavor!
by Jackie72 6 years agoAs we get older food can become a bit bland. Unfortunately, most products and dishes are "flavored up" with salt. This dish is flavorful for all the right reasons without the huge amouts of salt.

SUPER DELICIOUS AND SUPER EASY!!!
by Elyce75 7 years agoI decided to try this recipe because it looked very easy and I wasn't expecting it to taste as WONDERFUL as it was. I did substitute the white rice for brown rice and it was just as delicious as if I used white rice. Didn't have to purchase a lot of additional ingredients so that helped out a lot.. Definitely will become a staple in my house!!!
