Sausage-Wrapped Jalapeno Poppers and Asparagus
Extremely easy and elegant appetizers made with Johnsonville® Spicy Sausage Strips that will become party favorites for family and friends.
packages (12 ounces each) JOHNSONVILLE® Spicy Sausage Strips
package (8 ounces) cream cheese
cup shredded Cheddar cheese
Salt and pepper, to taste
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Bring a pot of water to boiling over medium-high heat; add salt. Place asparagus in boiling water to blanch; about 3 minutes. Immediately chill in a bath of ice water to retain rich green color.
Wrap two pieces of asparagus with one strip; secure with toothpick and arrange on a prepared baking sheet.
Bake wrapped asparagus in oven until desired crispiness; about 10-12 minutes.
Preheat oven to 400°F.
In a bowl, combine the cream cheese, Cheddar cheese, salt and pepper.
Halve jalapeno peppers lengthwise, then use a spoon to remove the seeds and veins.
]Fill with cheese mixture and wrap each jalapeno with a sausage strip; secure with a toothpick.
Arrange on a prepared baking sheet and bake until desired crispiness; about 12-15 minutes.
