Sausage Strips and French Toast
With buttery crisp edges, this French toast will make mornings special when served with Johnsonville® Sausage Strips.


Ingredients

package (12 ounces) JOHNSONVILLE® Sausage Strips, any flavor

thick bread slices

eggs

cup milk

tablespoon sugar

teaspoons vanilla

Salt, to taste

Optional toppings: fresh berries, confectioners' sugar, maple syrup or butter

In a skillet over medium-high heat, place a single layer of sausage strips in askillet. Heat for 3-5 minutes until brown and to desired crispiness; turning often. Set aside and keep warm.

In a shallow dish, whisk together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla and salt. Preheat a greased griddle over medium heat.

Dip bread in egg mixture, allowing to soak 30 seconds on each side. Cook on a griddle until golden brown on both sides; serve with toppings as desired.
