Johnsonville Celebrates Bratsgiving Day

America’s favorite holiday traditions get a sausage makeover in new video

Summary

That's right, Bratsgiving Day. That's the name we are giving to the official food holiday, National Bratwurst Day, which is August 16. Join the Johnsonville Brattender and get inspired with ideas of how you can celebrate this special sausage holiday by watching this video.

Join Johnsonville in celebrating National Bratwurst Day on August 16. It’s only fitting for Johnsonville to celebrate this important holiday by affectionately referring to it now as “Bratsgiving Day.”

This special holiday devoted to bratwurst takes place annually as a day where everyone can celebrate quality sausage and memorable times with family and friends. We're giving a new twist to this very important holiday, which is explained in the video starring the Johnsonville Brattender. He brings together elements of other national holidays as he celebrates his rendition of Bratsgiving Day.

Starting August 5, we invite all bratwurst enthusiasts to gear up for this holiday by participating in the “12 days of Bratsgiving,” where many opportunities exist for fans to share their pre-holiday excitement through conversations, events, and chances to receive one-of-a-kind Bratsgiving Day memorabilia, primarily on the company’s Facebook page.

Johnsonville will also be active with its #bratsgiving conversations on its other social platforms (InstagramTwitter andPinterest).

“May has Memorial Day, June has Father’s Day and, of course, there’s the Fourth of July. Brat fans have been celebrating those holidays with Johnsonville for almost 70 years. But what about August?” asked Jamie Schmelzer, Vice President and Management Supervisor at Cramer-Krasselt, which developed the Brattender effort. “Brat fans don’t want to wait until Labor Day. So, National Bratwurst Day, now known as Bratsgiving Day, gives our fans a perfect reason to celebrate in the middle of August.”
