Zesty Sausage and Rice Skillet Dinner

This dish from Johnsonville Kitchens is a fantastic spicy skillet that won’t burn you up! Using your favorite chunky salsa, green and red peppers, fresh cilantro and Johnsonville Smoked Sausage, your skillet will pack just enough heat to complement the perfectly smoked sausage.

Zesty Sausage and Rice Skillet Dinner
What you need
- 1 package JOHNSONVILLE® Smoked Sausage, sliced
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 medium green bell peppers, diced
- 2 medium sweet red bell peppers, diced
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 jar (16 ounces) chunky salsa
- 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- cooked white rice
Preparation
- 1 In a skillet, brown sausage in oil for 3 to 4 minutes.
- 2 Add peppers, onion and garlic.
- 3 Continue to cook until vegetables are tender.
- 4 Stir salsa into sausage mixture.
- 5 Cook until thoroughly heated.
- 6 Sprinkle with cilantro.
- 7 Serve over hot rice.
