Johnsonville Three Cheese Italian Style Chicken Sausage Cabbage Rolls

What you need

  • 1 pkg.
    Mahatma® or Carolina® Yellow Rice Mix
  • 1 tsp.
    olive oil
  • 1large
    onion, chopped
  • 1large
    bell pepper, chopped
  • 1pkg.
    (12 oz.) Johnsonville Three Cheese Italian Style Chicken Sausage
  • 1
    head cabbage
  • 1large
    jar pasta sauce
  • 1/4 cup
    Parmesan cheese

Preparation

    Preheat oven to 350°F.

    Prepare rice according to package directions.

    Heat oil in a medium skillet over medium heat.

    Sauté onions and peppers just until tender.

    In a medium bowl, combine cooked rice, sautéed vegetables, sausage.

    Core cabbage and boil 10 minutes.

    Separate leaves and place leaves back into boiling water until they are easy to bend, 1-2 minutes.

    Fill leaves with rice/sausage mixture. Roll like a burrito, tucking ends as you go using the largest leaves.

    Place seam side down in a 3-quart baking dish.

    Cover rolls with pasta sauce and top with cheese.

    Cover pan with aluminum foil and bake 30 minutes.
