Steel City Sausage Sandwich with Fries and Coleslaw
What you need
- 1mediumhead cabbage, shredded
- 1/2cupsugar
- 1/4cupcider vinegar
- 1/4cupvegetable oil
- 2teaspoonssalt
- 1teaspooncracked black pepper
- 1/4teaspooncelery salt
- 1package(28 ounce) frozen thin-cut French fries
- 2packages(19 ounce) Johnsonville® Hot Italian Sausage Links
- 10slicessharp provolone cheese
- 10mediumtomatoes, sliced
- 20slicessoft Italian bread
Preparation
- 1For Coleslaw: place cabbage in a large bowl. Combine the sugar, cider vinegar, oil, salt, pepper and celery salt. Pour over cabbage; toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate until serving.
- 2Prepare French fries according to package directions; keep warm.
- 3Grill Italian Sausage according to package directions.
- 4Butterfly cooked links and return to the grill. Top with cheese; cook 1to 2 minutes longer or until cheese is melted.
- 5Serve on sliced Italian bread topped with French fries, tomato and coleslaw.
