Steel City Sausage Sandwich with Fries and Coleslaw
What you need
- 1 medium head cabbage, shredded
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1/4 cup cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
- 2 teaspoons salt
- 1 teaspoon cracked black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon celery salt
- 1 package (28 ounce) frozen thin-cut French fries
- 2 packages (19 ounce) Johnsonville® Hot Italian Sausage Links
- 10 slices sharp provolone cheese
- 10 medium tomatoes, sliced
- 20 slices soft Italian bread
Preparation
- 1 For Coleslaw: place cabbage in a large bowl. Combine the sugar, cider vinegar, oil, salt, pepper and celery salt. Pour over cabbage; toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate until serving.
- 2 Prepare French fries according to package directions; keep warm.
- 3 Grill Italian Sausage according to package directions.
- 4 Butterfly cooked links and return to the grill. Top with cheese; cook 1to 2 minutes longer or until cheese is melted.
- 5 Serve on sliced Italian bread topped with French fries, tomato and coleslaw.
