Steel City Sausage Sandwich with Fries and Coleslaw

What you need

  • 1 medium
    head cabbage, shredded
  • 1/2 cup
    sugar
  • 1/4 cup
    cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup
    vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons
    salt
  • 1 teaspoon
    cracked black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon
    celery salt
  • 1 package
    (28 ounce) frozen thin-cut French fries
  • 2 packages
    (19 ounce) Johnsonville® Hot Italian Sausage Links
  • 10 slices
    sharp provolone cheese
  • 10 medium
    tomatoes, sliced
  • 20 slices
    soft Italian bread

Preparation

    For Coleslaw: place cabbage in a large bowl. Combine the sugar, cider vinegar, oil, salt, pepper and celery salt. Pour over cabbage; toss to coat. Cover and refrigerate until serving.

    Prepare French fries according to package directions; keep warm.

    Grill Italian Sausage according to package directions.

    Butterfly cooked links and return to the grill. Top with cheese; cook 1to 2 minutes longer or until cheese is melted.

    Serve on sliced Italian bread topped with French fries, tomato and coleslaw.
