Fantastic quick weeknight meal

This was a quick easy meal to put together and had great flavor! I used the 50% chicken/50% pork sausage to save on some of the fat. Thanks for the recipe!

questions

by carla 2 months ago
This looks absolutely delicious and I want to try this but my questions are the following; does it have to be grilled? I'm not able to grill at the moment but I want to make this but I don't want the fact that I'm not going to grill the sausage to affect the taste of the recipe. If I don't grill and just cook the sausage by skillet will it affect the taste of recipe significantly or not? please help..
I'm going to rate this recipe by how it looks

no you can put a pot on the stove steam cook the sausage like that. Or you can do it by the skillet either way. No it shouldn't hurt the taste at all.

I cut the sausage to desired size, prick it with a fork a few times and put them in the oven at 375 degrees for about 30-40 minutes, turning a few times - EXC!

Of course not.....oven bake, broil, grill, fry. Delicious, easy and quick! Paired with a nice salad. My hubby took leftovers to work.

Outstanding!

This may be the best Italian dish I have ever tasted. I am Greek/Italian and I am super picky over Italian recipes. My husband absolutely loved it, too. I used a larger jar of sauce, added 3 tablespoons of Parmesan cheese and put mozzarella cheese on top of each serving. Outstanding. Thank you Johnsonville!

Just as Written

by Sandyj 5 months ago
I was going to make a pasta dish with the Italian sausage, saw this recipe inside the package, and just happened to have the ingredients on hand. Although tempted to add another jar of pasta sauce I didn't, and followed the recipe as written. The sauce came out well balanced with the 16 oz of rigatoni. We did put on a lot of Italian cheese. Great recipe!

I didn't make any changes to this recipe. It is excellent and simple just the way it is. A new family favorite....(My husband did suggest adding black olives though)

Love it

I really like this recipe. When I came across it, I was looking for something similar to the Marie Calendars frozen pasta bowl and I think is is just as great. Sometimes I add meatballs as well.
