Gyro Brat Hoagie

All the gyro taste you love baked into a hearty hoagie roll and stuffed with brats, onions and a tasty sauce. All the taste without the mess! An excellent use for pregame brat fry leftovers. Make it ahead, then bake in the oven or on the grill at the tailgate!

Gyro Brat Hoagie
What you need
- 1cup(8 oz) sour cream (for sauce)
- 1/2mediumcucumber, peeled, seeded and finely chopped (for sauce)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced (for sauce)
- 2tsp.fresh parsley, chopped (for sauce)
- 1/4tsp.salt (for sauce)
- 1/4tsp.cracked black pepper, optional (for sauce)
- 1pkg.(19 oz.) Johnsonville® Original Bratwurst
- 1loaf(1 lb.) French bread
- 1smallonion, thinly sliced
- 1mediumtomato, thinly sliced
Preparation
- 1In a bowl, combine sauce ingredients. Cover and refrigerate until serving.
- 2Grill brats according to package directions.
- 3When cool enough to handle, cut into ¼-in. bias slices.
- 4Slice French bread lengthwise and transfer to a baking sheet.
- 5Arrange brat slices on bread bottom.
- 6Bake at 350°F for 10 minutes or until bread is lightly browned.
- 7Remove from oven. Top with the sauce, onion and tomato.
- 8Cut hoagie and serve.
