Buttermilk Sausage Bath
What you need
- 1qt.buttermilk
- 2largeonions, sliced
- 4ribscelery, sliced
- 1bunchfresh thyme sprigs
- 2pkgs.(19 oz. each) Johnsonville® Italian Sausage Links or Brats
- Large12-in. x 9-in.heavy-duty disposable foil pan
Preparation
- 1Preheat grill to medium-low.
- 2In a large heavy-duty disposable foil pan, combine the buttermilk, onions, celery and thyme.
- 3Place pan on the grill. Bring to a gentle simmer.
- 4Add sausage and cover pan with foil. Simmer for 10-15 minutes or until a thermometer inserted into sausage reads 160°F.
- 5Remove sausage from the pan. Grill links until browned; return to pan.
- 6Cover pan and keep warm.
