    Preheat grill to medium-low.

    In a large heavy-duty disposable foil pan, combine the buttermilk, onions, celery and thyme.
  • 3
    Place pan on the grill. Bring to a gentle simmer.
  • 4
    Add sausage and cover pan with foil. Simmer for 10 to 15 minutes or until a thermometer inserted into sausage reads 160°F.

    Remove sausage from the pan. Grill links until browned; return to pan.
  • 6
    Cover pan and keep warm.

I really did not know what to expect with this recipe , but I like buttermilk so I thought I would give it a try. WOW, what a hit. I had people calling me months later as asking me for the recipe for "buttermilk bath". You have GOT to try this!
