a complete pleasure

This meal was ready in about 15 minutes from getting stuff out to sitting down. Major plus on my list. Husband and I added a little more pineapple because that is what I had on hand. The only changes I will make next time will be to add more onion and broccoli, maybe another shot of soy sauce. Plenty for 2 adults and lunch tomorrow.

Not the recipe for us

by Punkcat1 6 months ago
I LOVE Johnsonville Apple Chicken Sausage when I include it as an ingredient along with a boxed Spanish Rice mix. So I like the product. That being said, this recipe was just too blah and it did not have enough flavor. It did not seem like this type of sausage had enough "kick" to go along with the bland vegetables. And the pinepple just didn't add much. It needed a stronger sauce of some kind to tie it all together. I'll try some other recipe next time because I really want to use this great sausage as an ingredient in more of our meals.

This recipe was so tasty!

by MrsNonCooker 1 year ago
I'm the "non-cook" of the family. My husband is much more confident in the kitchen than myself, but I always want to try to make a yummy meal for my family. This recipe was a big hit! My 3 year old loved the sausage and pineapple and even tried some of the veggies!

The Apple Chicken Sausage Makes this a Great Healthy/Easy Recipe

by MelH2727 1 year ago
I was hesitant to try the chicken sausage, but was very flavorful (and my husband couldn't stop eating it!) This is a very tasty recipe. The only thing I would change is that next time I will add a little more pineapple to it. And you don't really need to use a whole package of the sausages- & I cut them into smaller pieces than what is shown in the recipe pic. This recipe made a HUGE batch of food (it was just my husband and I eating it.) I will definitely make this again!!! YUM!

Easy Dinner

by Mini25 1 year ago
I've used this recipe 2x so far. It's been a hit both times. The first won over my fiance'. We used to eat Chinese out a lot. This is a cheaper solution, with healthier benefits. The second time I used it was a week ago for my birthday at my families. It seems like everyone's on diets this time of year. Everyone was impressed on the portions, and they all got full no complaints. Even from the picky eaters we have in my family on mixing sweet stuff in, instead of having it on the side. We did slice the sausage length wise in fours then chopped it into smaller "triangle" pieces so there would be more throughout. Also I just bout the stir fry veggies in the frozen veggie section. I did add more broccoli to ours by steaming it and mixing it in. But overall we liked it fairly well.

My wife loves it!

by Gilly 1 year ago
And she is sort of like "Mikey" on the Life cereal ad. It was relatively easy to make. I am not the handiest in the kitchen but do OK, this was no "breeze" to make, but others might do better. Upshot is that my wife raved about it and she seldom raves, usually "it's OK" is a high compliment, but this she really liked. Only thing to watch is what stir fry mix to use, I used a BirdsEye mix which was a sugar snap pea mix. Most stir fry mixes are broccoli mixes. I don't mind brocolli, but I didn't think it would work the best with this recipe. The mix I used had the snap peas, carrots, onions and mushrooms. I liked the fact it didn't have peppers in it, neither my wife or I like red or green peppers. They must be the cheapest vegetable there is because everything you buy frozen, with veggies in it, has peppers. Will definitely use this recipe again

Good and easy

by Stephteacher 1 year ago
It was good. I added a red pepper and doubled the sausage. It could use a little more for taste but, I tried to make something healthier and easy. I also steamed the veggies in the microwave first, and cut everything up so it would be faster.

Mediocre at best

by Debi 1 year ago
The recipe was not the best. I didn't think the sausage complemented the recepe. I will not make this again.

Just what I was hoping for!

by ChristieTryingtoCook 1 year ago
I had a coupon for Johnsonville Apple Chicken Sausages so I picked one up but didn't have a clue what to make with it so I scoped out the website. This sounded so good and it was everything I was hoping for and more. My picky husband even liked it. We substituted fresh veggies for frozen ones, but it was still quick and easy. Thanks for the tip!
