cooking directions :

Just slice and serve! Johnsonville Summer Sausage is perfect for eating all on its own, and you can enjoy it lots of other different ways... sliced on a cracker with cheese, diced in salads, as a tasty hot snack, or as a zesty pizza topping. It's also great sliced and eaten in sandwiches!

freezing / storage :

To freeze summer sausage, wrap in wax paper or meat paper, date and freeze for up to three months. To thaw, remove from freezer and set out on counter to prevent molding.

Wonderful Product This is the most delicious summer sausage I've ever tried. Our whole family absolutely loves this sausage. I highly recommend it for all types of occasions. We love it on salads, we slice it and use it with spicy mustard and crackers along side apple wedges. The sausage is lean and full of flavor. Cons: In our area this is extremely hard to find. When we do locate a supply we typically purchase an unusually large supply. Note: This can be frozen and saved for months. We try to keep extra supply on hand in our freezer so we never have to go without. April 24, 2012
The best of all the beef summer sausages Johnsonville Beef Summer Sausage is the only all-beef summer sausage the men at my house will eat. We've tried all the others (Hillshire, Burgers Smokehouse, etc.) but they complain the others are "too rubbery" or "too bland" or "wrong texture". This is important, because they have fried beef summer sausage EVERY MORNING for breakfast (prefer it over bacon). My only complaint is that it is hard to find the large logs of this in my area. One chain store carries it, but not in all their stores. Wal-Mart does not carry it. I sometimes wish I could just buy a entire case of it right from Johnsonville so I don't have to drive all over town trying to find this specific product. April 23, 2012
