Beddar with Cheddar Smoked Sausage Links
Bones/Plastic... what's in these things. The flavor was great and if it weren't for my concern of finding either pieces of bone (where would that come from in a processed sausage) or plastic, I would rate it higher! This was my first purchase of Johnsonville product... I've emailed them directly with my concerns, we will see if it's my last purchase. I need an explanation. — MBrown

They certainly have a hotdog/frankfurter texture (and look), but that is where it ends. The mix of spices definitely lends a sausage taste to it an the small embedded cheddar cheese chunks within them lends to a slight creaminess and slight cheddar taste when cooked and hot. The cheese chucks, arguably bits from their size, are disbursed within the wiener for an even flavor - no 'cheese zone' as some products have.
They broil, fry/grill well, basically like a good hot dog should and one should use that as an expectation or guide when heating these precooked item (again precooked as one expects in a hotdog). Eat them as is or heated if you wish.
Anyway, I ended up broiling and frying that package and just ate as is for a 'midnight' meat snack when on the PC and felt hungry. Cut the wiener up into medallions to nip on as I was watching TV. Yea a definite candidate ingredient for a more involved dish, such as scalloped potatoes.
I got another package today (and envision many more future ones) AND a package of hotdog buns for my original intent to use these. Though I doubt all six of these will ever join with a bun due to late night snacking habits that these are excellent for.
The only gripe is that they should come in packages of either sausages. You only get six sausages per package, leaving two left over buns. Johnsonville really needs to work out the link to bun ratio on that scene, even if that means raising prices for the extra links.

I love these things and could probably live off them. The walmart near my home is frequently sold out... wonder why... so i purchased the slightly cheaper cheddar wurst, they were not even close to being as good as these.
I highly recommend the Bedder with Chedder
