by 8 months ago
We eat Johnsonville sausage every week. Bake it, fry it, saute it, anyway you cook it, it is so delicious. You can't go wrong on how you cook it. Eat it sauted with broccoli and cheese. Fry it up and eat it on toast. Chop it up with onions, potatoes, and jalepenos. Can't say enough about how to prepare it. LOVE THAT JOHNSONVILLE SAUSAGE

Andouille Sausage! YUM!

by Summerdawne 8 months ago
The stores in my area had never carried this product before, so when it showed up on the store shelves a few months ago, we had to try it. I put it in my jumbolaya recipe & what a difference it made the taste! A little kick compared to the usual smoked sausage that we have used in the past, but not so much of a kick that the kids couldn't eat it. We all really liked it & this will now replace the sausage that we have been using!

Andouille Sausage

by cashinsix 8 months ago
This is the only one I have tried (so far) and it is the BEST! I use it at least once a week when we have breakfast for supper. I love the kick it has then I add it to eggs, hash browns, onions, hot pepper (what ever is in the garden ripe), top it off with cheese and it is the BOMB! I highly recommend this sausage to all!

by Apple2 8 months ago
I have tried this sausage in only one Cajun dish and believe it approximates the authentic. The fact that it comes fully cooked is a definite plus so I would give it highest points for convenience and high points for approximating the real thing.

Red beans and Rice

by Grumpy 8 months ago
One of our go-to quick meals (30 minutes or less) has for many years been Zatarain's red beans and rice. We've always added a couple of links of smoked sausage sliced into bite-sized pieces to make it a complete meal (along with cornbread, of course!). We've always used a high-quality locally-produced sausage because we'd have to travel too far to buy authentic Louisiana Andouille sausage. Johnsonville's Andouille adds an extra layer of flavor that the smoked sausage lacked. With shrimp, it's also very good in an alfredo sauce. Its flavors are versatile enough that I would pair wine with the other ingredients of the dish rather than with the Andouille.

by Finkbeiner 8 months ago
As with most other J ville sausage I found that the Andouille sausage was a little lacking in flavor. I like it spicy and this did not get the job done. Don't get me wrong I like a lot of J ville stuff but the smoked and flavored sausages have a lot to be desired in my book.

Mrs

by bakerj9299 8 months ago
My husband loves to make gumbo. So he decided to try this and see how it works. Got to say we loved it. He simply diced it up and cooked it down some. Some came out like bacon almost, and there was not an inordinate amount of grease as is the case of using ground andouille. The spices were still a bit much for me, but my husband and kids loved it! The price was average for me. All in all, a product I will continue to use.

I love using Johnsonville sausages on nights when we are dashing from soccer practice to school functions. They cook up quickly and taste juicy and flavorful any time. They go well with so many things, but we love them on their own, or added to a boxed rice mix, maybe with some beans. Andouille Sausage = Perfect Jambalaya

by ILMomofFour 8 months ago
I always used plain smoked sausage in my jambalaya, but decided to try the Johnsonville Andouille Sausage when I had a coupon. All I can say is, no more plain old smoked sausage for my jambalaya! The Johnsonville Andouille is delicious!

Convenient & Flavorful

Great flavor, goes well in most dishes, and it's pre-cooked so it's super fast to prepare. I wish they offered a spicy version, but otherwise I really enjoy this flavor.

Andouille Sausage Jambalaya

by smithke17 8 months ago
I love the andouille sausage in jambalaya, it's perfect! Sometimes i throw in a little bit of shrimp or chicken, but the sausage by itself is just a good, or better! We also sometimes just eat it plain, throw it on the grill and slap it on a bun! Great flavor and spices, and a decent price! Favorite in this house.

We love Johnsonville!

by Redhed 8 months ago
Johnsonville Sausage is always in our fridge, and usually in our freezer as well. We use it in casseroles, we use it with eggs, we use it with cheese, we grill it, we fry it, we saute it, we occasionally boil it. The flavor and quality is consistant and a good value for our narrow budget. Although the polska kiehlbasa is our favorite, we love the brats, the andouille, Italian, and, well, we just like sausage and Johnsonville is the best of the best.

Overall good

by Wileyt69 8 months ago
This sausage is an excellent product, with one caveat. I would prefer a sausage with more grain or a bigger grind. All ready to eat sausages are what I refer to as Hot Dog Sausage. Generally the meat is run through an emulsifier. I would love to see y'all make a fresh andouille with a natural casing like your brats. We had your Jalapeño -Cheese for lunch today. There was no bite and no cheese flavor. We will not buy that product again. I try anything y'all come out with. Our next try will be buffalo style.

Kale soup w/andouille sausage

by Debe 8 months ago
Great in home made kale soup . Gives it the zip it needs. All you need is Prewashed kale, chicken broth, onions, potato, and your Andouille sausage. throw all in pot and simmer till potatoes tender. You can even throw in a hand full of whole wheat pasta to cook in soup.

Everything looked soob YMMY, bu the rice with the sausage...I'd like to ad sauted onions, gree and red peppers, wih some Mexicon corn and blak beans...roll out some dough. Place the cooked and slightly cooled meat onto th pastry, exceptr for 2-3 edges...you'll be curling that up roud the dish. Bak at 375 for about 40...then add 3-4 cups off Meican cheese on top where the pastrey oesn't show an sprinke with parsley...cook 5 moree minutes and enjoy!!

good for red beans and rice

by sctdvdltl 9 months ago
i bought this at walmart after sampling it. i use a different smoked sausage they sell usually. i thought the quality was good. what i expect from johnsonville. i make red beans and rice in a slow cooker once a week. it is a cheap meal. and this is much better than what i usually have. i take on star off for flavor. mainly because i have had traditional andouille living in texas, mainly at restaurants that serve gumbo. and it does taste a little different but mainly because the the fat and meat or more coarse in the real stuff. it changes the texture a little. i really like it and plan to add it to my meals weekly. i hope walmart keeps selling it. also one star on value is down because my usual sausage is cheaper but not as good.

Not an authentic Cajun andouiile

by rbneil 9 months ago
I was thrilled to see Johnsonville andouiile sausage at my local grocery. We don't get many Louisiana-style foods here in Massachusetts, and I haven't had good andouiile since I moved away from New Orleans many years ago. Unfortunately, I still haven't. I found the product to be very bland and not representative of a true Cajun sausage. Oh well, Johnsonville, at least you tried.

Amazing product

by Jaye2011 10 months ago
I got it so that I could see if it was one of the things that I would want to have in my fridge while at school and it totally is. I know that I will be buying these a lot because they are so easy to make. I tossed it on the grill for like 10 minutes and it turned out so good.

Smokey !

by whiplash 12 months ago
Johnsonville's andouille recipe really brought on the smokey flavor. It's unigue combination of spices gives this sausage a truely one of a kind taste. I would happily put this in a gumbo or on top of dirty rice.
