Development & Learning Team Wins Award for its Internal Leadership Program

Johnsonville’s Organizational Development and Leadership team was honored with an Excellence in Practice Award from the Association for Talent Development (ATD) for the company's BLAST program - Building Leaders and Superlative Teams.

BLAST is an intensive nine month leader-development program where members (employees) learn and develop their coaching (management) skills.

The ATD presents awards annually to organizations and programs that have demonstrated clear and measurable business results. The BLAST program has helped Johnsonville’s bottom line through action-learning projects, the creation of continuous-improvement teams and helping the company fill coaching roles internally. Today, nearly 50 percent of Johnsonville's company leaders are BLAST graduates.

Johnsonville received the award at the ATD international conference on May 23 in Denver.

Thirty-one awards and 32 citations were presented in 10 categories: career development, coaching and mentoring, diversity and inclusion, facilitating organizational change, integrated talent management, learning technologies, managing the learning function, organizational learning and development, performance improvement, and sales enablement. Awards are presented to organizations with proven practices that have delivered measurable and sustained results.
