Construction Begins on New Watertown, Wis. Facility

Building expansion will add 54,000 square feet, 30 new jobs

Today, Johnsonville Sausage, LLC broke ground at the site of its new Watertown, Wis., facility located at 1222 Perry Way. The building is just a few miles from 104 Division Street, where the company had operated a plant since 1981. The Division Street location suffered a fire in May 2015.

“This is an important milestone as we build our future home in Watertown,” said Nick Meriggioli, CEO, Johnsonville Sausage. “We’ve been a proud member of this community for more than three decades and are thankful we can continue to grow our business here.”

Johnsonville plans to expand the building on Perry Way to 117,000 total square feet and will also add 30 jobs. Completion of the facility, which supports Johnsonville’s fresh sausage business, is expected in spring 2016.

The groundbreaking celebration was attended by local officials, company leadership and 120 Watertown-based Johnsonville members and their families.
