Summer Sausage S’mores

This recipe is a great appetizer to serve while waiting for those great Johnsonville Brats to finish grilling. Both appetizer and main course share the grill and the glory!

Summer Sausage S’mores Ingredients
  • 1 (12 oz.) Johnsonville® Original Summer Sausage, sliced 1/4 inch think
  • Cheddar Cheese (enough for the amount of sausage slices) sliced to the diameter of the sausage
  • Round snack crackers (enough for the amount of sausage slices)
  • Course-ground Mustard
Summer Sausage S’mores Directions

Place sausage slices on a hot grill.  Grill until the sausages starts to curl into a cup shape, about 3 minutes.  Flip the sausage and place the cheese inside the cupped side.  Cover the grill and allow the cheese to melt.

 

Meanwhile, spread the cracker with mustard, to taste.  Remove the sausage cups from the grill and sandwich them between the crackers just before serving.
