Super Party Brat Sub Hoagie

This is a great BIG sandwich you can make ahead of game day and pop it in the oven right before the game. Sliced brats, peppers, onions and cheese make this a hearty crowd pleaser that's even great warmed on the grill at half time!

Super Party Brat Sub Hoagie Ingredients

Prep: 25 min.   Grill/Bake: 35 min.

  • 1 pkg. (19.76 oz.) Johnsonville® Original Bratwurst
  • 1 each medium sweet red, yellow and green pepper, sliced
  • 1 large onion, sliced
  • 3 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1 loaf (1 lb.) French bread
Super Party Brat Sub Hoagie Directions

Grill brats according to package directions. When cool enough to handle, cut into ¼-in. bias slices. In a skillet, sauté peppers and onion in oil until tender; set aside.

Slice French bread lengthwise and transfer to a baking sheet. Layer bottom of bread bottom with brats, peppers mixture and provolone cheese. Place top of bread on hoagie and bake at 350°F for 10 minutes or until heated through. Cut hoagie and serve hot.
6 servings.

Options:
*to grill hoagie, assemble sandwich on a large sheet of heavy-duty foil. Wrap in foil. Grill, covered, over medium-low heat for 10 minutes or until heated through.
