Bratwurst with Rosemary & Mushroom Stuffing

Submitted by: The Kitchen at Johnsonville Sausage

A great twist on an old familiar favorite, Johnsonville Brats add just the right kick to wake up that same old stuffing recipe.

Cost per serving: $1.82
Bratwurst with Rosemary & Mushroom Stuffing Ingredients
  • 1 lb. sliced and crisp cooked bacon
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped onion, sautéed
  • 1 1/2 cups chopped green pepper, sautéed
  • 1 qt. condensed cream of mushroom soup
  • 3/4 cup chopped parsley, sautéed
  • 3/4 Tbsp. rosemary
  • 4 1/2 cups finely ground saltine crackers
  • 15-20 Johnsonville® Cooked Brats
Bratwurst with Rosemary & Mushroom Stuffing Directions

Split brats lengthwise being careful not to cut all the way through leaving ends intact. Place in baking pan and reserve. Blend onion, green pepper, parsley, rosemary, cream of mushroom soup and 3 cups of crackers together. Spoon equal amounts of stuffing into split brats. Place in pan. Sprinkle remaining crumbs and bacon on top of brats. Bake at 425ºF about 25 minutes or until stuffing is golden brown.
