SHEBOYGAN, WI (January 5, 2007) – The Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation has released the final fundraising numbers and Johnsonville has once again proved the top corporate partner for the annual Walk to Cure Diabetes.

 

This year, Johnsonville Members raised $22,153 and gathered a team of 159 walkers. While Johnsonville has historically proven an exceptional corporate partner for JDRF in the Sheboygan County area, this year the company exceeded expectations and was recognized with the following awards from JDRF:

 

·        Johnsonville won the “Platinum Award” for raising more than $20,000

·        Johnsonville member, Noli Faustino, was recognized as the “Top Individual Corporate Fundraiser.” Faustino raised $4,285

·        Johnsonville member, Dave Nicholson, was honored as the “Volunteer of the Year”

·        Johnsonville won the “Tee-Shirt Creativity Contest” for the 5^th year in a row

·        Six Johnsonville members were awarded the “Golden Sneaker Award” which recognizes individuals who raise between $500-$1000

 

In addition to participating and providing financial support, Johnsonville donated the brats and hot dogs, which were served at the walk to fuel the participants.

 

JDRF Walks are held in more than 200 communities nationwide and typically draw more than 500,000 participants. Each walk is a family-friendly event, which features entertainment, food and fun.
