Sarah-Jane Bedwell is a registered dietitian, national speaker, and media personality. Sarah-Jane has educated and entertained hundreds of different corporate and community groups as well as professional associations. Her goal is always to inspire her audiences to make healthy lifestyle changes through interactive, practical, and entertaining talks, cooking demonstrations, and media segments.
Sarah-Jane’s mission is to help people achieve a higher quality of life through food and nutrition. As the official "Eat Like Me" food and nutrition blogger for SELF Magazine, a national women's health and fitness magazine, she has a valuable platform in which she can share the information that she is both knowledgeable and passionate about. Sarah-Jane graduated magna cum laude with a major in dietetics and minor in exercise science from Harding University. Sarah-Jane completed her dietetic internship, with an emphasis on Medical Nutrition Therapy at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. As Nashville’s Nutrition Expert, Sarah-Jane currently offers individual nutrition counseling, nutrition seminars and cooking classes for groups. She has also served as a consultant for the food and beverage industry, with clients including Coca-Cola, Active Lifestyle Brands, Dole, Nordic Naturals, Frito Lay, and Unilever. She currently serves as the Past-President of the Nashville District Dietetic Association and as a media spokesperson for the Tennessee Dietetic Association.
Sarah-Jane appears every month on Nashville’s CBS affiliate, News Channel 5, doing upbeat nutrition-related segments on a live noon-time show. She was recently selected as the Emerging Dietetics Leader by her peers in the Nashville District Dietetic Association.
Sarah-Jane has been fortunate enough to travel around the world experiencing other cultures and cuisine. She studied abroad for a semester during college in the Tuscany region of Florence, Italy, as well as traveling all over Europe, to Argentina, central America, and the Caribbean, just to name a few. All of these experiences have shaped Sarah-Jane’s approach to food and healthy eating and inspired her to become a self-taught foodie and to experiment in the kitchen, where she fuses the Southern food of her roots with the healthy knowledge from her profession. In her free time, Sarah-Jane enjoys going for long runs (she's completed 4 marathons!), cooking meals with her husband Joe, and walking her two dogs, Inky and Buddy.
